Windscreen Leak & Rust Repairs Glenfield

Rust around a windscreen can be a problem which grows and grows.  As they say, “rust never sleeps”.

Even a small amount of “surface rust” around a windscreen edge can be an indicator of a more serious problem underneath.

Rust in vehicles is probably best likened to an iceberg…. you can only see the tip of it on the surface.

Left unchecked, and un-repaired, it will eventually cause the windscreen seal to fail.  This is usually noticed as the windscreen will start to leak water. Modern vehicles have the windscreen “glued” into the body with an adhesive called “urethane”.

Like any adhesive, urethane is only as good as the surface it sticks to. When this surface becomes rusty, the urethane will eventually let go of the surface.
